            I have a really bad problem. I am down with watching movies that involve women who kick total ass.

            This includes the Steven Soderbergh movie Haywire that includes a cast of Gina Carano, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas. Most of these men may have had their asses handed to them by Carano.

            So Gina Carano portrays Mallory Kane, a woman on a mission to find out who is trying to set her up.

            All of these men more or less give her issues in completing this mission.

            Gina Carano is a known Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Soderbergh cast her in this role thanks to her background.

            Because of this, Carano’s performance is pretty good for a debut.

            Haywire showcases the measures freelance agents go through on their “operations”.

            Mallory Kane attempts to complete all her operations and get out of the business. But watching the back and forth timeline gets muddled along the way.

            

The chemistry between the two of them is insane. (Source)

            The greatest part of the film takes place in Dublin. This part of the film deals with Carano and Fassbender.

            Carano and Fassbender’s dynamic is one of the best parts of the whole film. The chemistry between them on screen works.

            The other great part is watching how the back and forth dynamic between the two of them works.

            Carano is able to match Fassbender and Tatum in fights. That to me, is the greatest part of the movie.

            The fight scenes showcasing Carano’s skills are the best part of the movie.

            I did not think Carano would be able to pull off fighting against Tatum. But it is a great scene to watch.

            I totally went into watching this movie mainly for Fassbender. But I knew Carano would be the cherry on top of this sundae.

            I was totally not disappointed.

            The other noteworthy part of the film is Ewan McGregor. McGregor plays such a great character. His arrogance in attempting to control Mallory Kane is the greatest thing to witness as well.

            Because he fails at every try.

            Haywire plays on your nerves and is a good thriller for what it works. It doesn’t try to hard to achieve over the top acclaim.

            Soderbergh attempts to create a movie that is successful in flashbacks like Memento. The sad fact is that Haywire is no Memento.

            I have had people tell me they found the movie too difficult to follow. To me, Haywire was not that bad. Soderbergh is able to maintain the storyline through flashbacks but you have to pay close attention to follow it.

            Thankfully Netflix is streaming this movie online.

            It’s worth watching just for the action sequences alone. Not even gonna lie about that.
